ASI puts out a newsletter 4 times a year, which includes:
- Society news
- Advertising of scholarships and job vacancies
- News from around Australia and New Zealand on issues of concern to the scientific and medical research community.
Sustaining members will be offered free advertising space in each issue (1/6 of a page) and will be able, at the discretion of the editor, to insert fliers in each issue at cost price.
Contributions Welcomed - Contribute & be in the running for the Newsletter Prize!
An invitation and a request to all ASI members to contribute copy that they think might be interesting, useful, historical, humorous or thought-provoking. We especially invite students to voice their views on issues taht interest or directly concern them.
The best article published in the newsletter each year will win $100.
Congratulations to the inaugural Newsletter Prize winner, Prof Gordon Ada, for his three articles published in 2004 (March issue: How to win a Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine; June issue: The milk of human kindness: How my wife helped me crystallise neuraminidase; and June issue: What does it take to be a great scientist?).
