The NZ Branch of ASI links together immunology researchers from over 40 key research groups at universities, crown research institutes and independent institutes within New Zealand and has over 100 members. Because NZ ASI members are widely dispersed throughout the main centres of New Zealand including Dunedin, Wellington, Palmerston North, Hamilton, and Auckland, one of our primary activities is our annual branch meeting.
The meeting aims to facilitate collaborations and networks across New Zealand and attracts more than 100 delegates. Traditionally, the meeting runs over two full days and provides a forum for students, research officers, and post-doctoral fellows to present their research with the “Buck”, “Marbrook”, and Heslop” awards given to the best student, research officer, and post-doctoral fellow presenters. Additionally, several leading international immunologists are invited to give Keynote and Plenary lectures at the meeting. While this meeting focuses on bring NZ ASI members together, we invite and welcome delegates throughout Australasia and from all over the world to join us.
