Description

The IgV Annual Scientific Meeting is returning this year as a hybrid in-person / virtual meeting. As always, it will be a terrific opportunity for students and early postdocs to mingle with more senior immunologists and discuss their work in a congenial atmosphere, as well as obtaining experience in oral presentation.

An exciting program is planned over two full days, with plenty of opportunities for oral and poster presentations. There will also be a special session on equity and diversity in medical research.

Any participant attending in person or Victorian/Tasmanian ASI members joining virtually are invited to submit an abstract to be selected for a short talk, 3 minute thesis or poster presentation. Oral presentations are only available to those who attend in person (member or non-member) or to Victorian/Tasmanian members joining virtually. Poster presentations are only available for in person participants.

The IgV Committee will be awarding a series of oral and poster presentation prizes to students and early postdoc (ASI members only).

Due to ongoing COVID-safe requirements, there will be a limit on the number of people allowed to attend in person. In-person registration will be on a first come, first served basis. In-person registrations include all meals and accommodation.

Travel bursaries (covering airfare) will be awarded to the top abstracts submitted by Tasmanian ASI student members.

Abstract Submissions are invited before July 23 2021

Abstract submissions have now closed, but online attendance is open until Aug 6.

We invite abstract submissions from in-person attendees or any ASI VIC/TAS branch members. 

  1. Please download the abstract template using the green button below.
  2. Rename the file with 'SURNAME_Firstname_IgV2021'
  3. Submit as a .doc file before July 23 at 23:59 AEST.
  4. Please note: If you are a Tasmanian student member and you wish to be considered for a travel bursary, please also email your abstract to Mark Chong before the deadline by clicking here

Transport Option

We have arranged a bus to and from the venue, for your convenience. 

On the morning of Thursday 26/8, this will leave Parkville (near the University of Melbourne) for the Yarra Valley Lodge. On Friday afternoon this bus will leave the venue for Parkville.

The return fare is only AUD 30.  Please indicate your interest in this option when registering.
