Description

The ASI QLD Branch Meeting, formerly known as BIG, was established in 2000 as part of the Queensland branch of ASI. This year marks our 25th anniversary! The ASI QLD Branch Meeting 2025 retreat will be a one-and-a-half-day symposium-style program featuring presentations by early-career, mid-career and postgraduate researchers, plenary lectures, the Jonathan Sprent Oration, and an evening poster session and dinner. The event is intended as a retreat, where immunology researchers (expert and next generation) can interact and get to know each other. All attendees stay at the venue overnight, enjoy the full program of presentations and new collaborators in their field.

🚩 Accommodation

Registration prices are based on having a single room. To opt for a shared room and receive a discount of AUD 125 off the registration price, please select this option on the registration form.

If you opt for a shared room, please indicate your preferred roommate's name in the 'Additional Requirements' field on the registration form. If you do not have a preferred roommate, we can place you with one - please indicate your gender in the 'Additional Requirements' field on the registration form.

A return bus transfer is available for an additional cost of AUD 60. To book this, please select this option on the registration form.

ASI Carer’s Grants for Branch Meetings

A friendly reminder to ASI members that ASI strongly promotes equity and diversity, and we wish to support primary carers to be able to attend ASI Branch Meetings and the ASI Annual Meeting. Covid Safe Policy

 Your health and safety are our priority. This is a COVID-safe event with the following rules to adhere to:

• All delegates and exhibitors may be asked to present a NEGATIVE Rapid Antigen Test before travelling to the conference.
• All attendees must comply with the Safety Plan advised by public health orders to minimise the risk of transmission of COVID-19 on the premises. 
• All attendees are encouraged to wear a mask particularly at indoor venues
• All attendees are encouraged to contact the Organising Committees if they exhibit symptoms and consider cancelling their registration or participating remotely to minimise transmission
• ASI will not cover expenses associated with extra accommodation or alternative transport costs due to isolation requirements should attendees test positive at the event. All attendees should be aware that the events are ‘Attend at your own risk'.  

Disclaimer of Liability

The Organising Committee will not accept liability for damages of any nature sustained by participants or their accompanying persons or loss of or damage to their personal property as a result of the meeting or related events. 

Should the event be cancelled due to COVID-related restrictions, the Organising Committee shall endeavour to reschedule.  All participants who have paid a registration fee may receive a full refund on the registration fee, but all participants hereby indemnify and hold the Organising Committee unaccountable for all out-of-pocket travel and quarantine -related costs, damages and expenses. 

 By registering for and attending the ASI event, you are also indicating your acceptance of the ASI Event Policy.
