How to submit your abstract

  1. Prepare your abstract offline using the ASI 2025 abstract template This will be uploaded during the abstract submission process on the next page.  This document is important because it:
    • helps you prepare your abstract offline in your own time
    • better preserves any special characters used in scientific terminology
    • streamlines the way we manage abstracts for the program or conference app.
  2. Ensure your filename follows the naming convention of "SURNAME_First name" and is saved as a docx or doc.
  3. Overall word count, excluding the scientific title, authors and affiliations must not exceed 3000 characters.
  4. If you are submitting multiple abstracts, please add a number to your filename "SURNAME_First name_1".
  5. Proceed through the abstract submission process by clicking the button below (if open).  This will open in a new window so you can still refer to these instructions.
  6. If you have a very long list of authors, please feel free to only include the Presenting (submitting) Author and any Senior Authors (eg Lab Heads, Group Leaders, Department Heads as these are critical for the integrity of the abstract review process.
  7. If you are indicating your interest to be considered for any ASI Annual Meeting Award, please ensure you have applied in your member portal.  Click here to check the application process for Annual Meeting Awards.
ℹ️ IMPORTANT NOTE for BD Science Communication Award Applicants: If you are submitting an abstract in non-technical  language for consideration to the ASI BD Science Communication Award, please ensure you select the theme called "Science Communication".  This facilitates the review process and will ensure your science communication abstract is allocated to the correct reviewers.
ℹ️ IMPORTANT NOTE for ALL abstract submissions: Your indication of scientific theme/s serves only to facilitate the review process and will ensure your abstract is allocated to appropriate reviewers.  If chosen for oral presentation, the Scientific Program Committee reserves the right to allocate your abstract to any themed session that is appropriate.
  8. All abstract submitters should receive an email acknowledgement instantly.  If you do not receive this, please log in to your ASI member profile and click on the tab 'Applications', or alternatively contact the conference team.
