Go behind the scenes of one of Victoria's leading medical research institutes
As part of the Day of Immunology Victoria 2022, organised by the Australia and New Zealand Society for Immunology (ASI), the La Trobe Institute for Molecular Science is opening its doors to the public.
Discovery tours provide a unique opportunity for the community to find out more about medical research, see our state-of-the-art facilities, learn about our exciting discoveries and talk to passionate scientists about their research.
The La Trobe Institute for Molecular Science (LIMS), a La Trobe University-embedded molecular research institute, is committed to solving global problems and improving the welfare of human societies. The Institute's research is supported by a state-of-the-art facility where scientists from different disciplines work together to achieve research outcomes.
In celebration of the "Day of Immunology", we would like to invite you to join us on a public Facility Tour, where you will:
✔️ get the chance to go behind the scenes of LIMS
✔️ view both our research and teaching facilities
✔️ meet our researchers.
Facility Tours will start at 11 am and will run for approximately 20 minutes.
Everyone is welcome. Book now to avoid disappointment as limited spots are available!
Refreshments are provided at the end of the tours.
All attendees will be entered into a draw to win prizes!
Attendees must be fully vaccinated to take part.
Facility Tour details:
- As tour groups visit a working laboratory, closed toe shoes (preferably flat) must be worn for occupational health and safety reasons.
- Photography: participants are welcome to take photographs during the tour, but please frame working scientists outside of the photos unless permission is given.
📧 For more information, contact Scott Williams.
Please note that the Facility Tour does not include the interactive stations which are part of the Discovery Tour.
