Day of Immunology

Celebrate your amazing immune system on the 29 April by attending events around Australia and New Zealand.

Established in 2005 by the European Federation of Immunological Societies (EFIS), the success of Day of Immunology led to it being celebrated worldwide since 2007. ASI has been celebrating the Day of Immunology in since 2009.

ASI is hosting numerous events around Australia and New Zealand in 2024 to celebrate the International Day of Immunology.

As the arms race between disease and immunologists continues to rage, It is more important than ever to grow public knowledge and interest in immunology. Take these opportunities to meet our global leaders in immunology research.

Discovery Tours
See where the action happens in Discovery Tours of institutes around Victoria. You can meet experts from a variety of fields and get a preview of the everyday life of our gown-wearing or computer-weilding superheros.

Public Lectures and Seminars
Hear about the latest conquests of immunology in our public forums across Australia. Bring along your curious questions and learn something cool, strange or useful about the immune system.

School Workshops
We work directly with schools to create a range of workshops giving students a hands-on taste of immunology research. Keep an eye out for reports following the DoI here. Please get in touch to enquire about hosting a workshop.
