Job Description
We are pleased to now invite nominations to ASI Council for 2024.
It's a great time to get involved with ASI. Membership numbers and engagement are at a record high for the society, as we continue to offer our members wonderful opportunities and create new initiatives.
We encourage your nominations if you are seeking to gain valuable experience in governance, leadership and management. This is your chance to make a contribution to ASI, and shape the future of Immunology in our region.
Positions will commence immediately after the 2023 Annual General Meeting on December 6th 2023.

Nominees must be current ASI members and have paid their membership subscription before 1st April 2023.
The deadline for nominations is September 29th 2023 at 23:59 AEST.

Council positions open for nominations
Voting Council:
Vice President - 4-year total term comprising 1 year as Vice President, 2 years as President, and 1 year as Past President.
As a member of the Executive Committee, the President holds the main chairperson and governance role in ASI activities, meetings and general decision-making
Branch / Regional Representative for NSW - 3-year term
Branch / Regional Representative for WA- 3-year term
Branch Councillors represent their branch members on Council, organise local branch activities, and report financial information to the Treasurers. Branch Councillors hold the central governance role for their region and are accountable for their branch activities and expenditure
Deputy EDI Coordinator / Chair - 3-year total term comprising 1 year as Deputy and 2 years as Chair
Formerly called the Women's Initiative Coordinator, the EDI Coordinator is also the Chair of the EDI Committee. The first year will be served as the Deputy EDI Coordinator/Chair, and then the next 2 years served as the EDI Coordinator/Chair. This position is responsible for developing and organizing initiatives to promote equity, diversity and inclusion, and also ensures the broad implementation of the EDI policy.
Non-Voting Council:
Newsletter Editor - 3-year term
The Newsletter Editor holds the main decision-making role about the content of the Newsletter, is supported by the ASI team, and works closely with a graphic designer who formats the text and images. This is an exciting time for the Newsletter Editor role as we embrace a better use of digital news pieces, delivered in a more engaging way to members.
Special Interest Group (SIG) Coordinator - 3-year term
Newly-created in 2020, this role oversees the Special Interest Groups and is the main point of contact for SIG committees. Each SIG is made up of highly-engaged members who have indicated their special interest within their member profile in order to receive interest-based news.
