Job Description
Immunology & Cell Biology is seeking applicants for the position of News and Commentary Editor to support the ICB Editorial Team.
The primary responsibility of the News and Commentary Editor is to support the Editor-in-Chief in maintaining and building ICB as a definitive source of primary immunology research.
The News and Commentary Editor will be part of the ICB Editorial Team consisting of the Editor-in-Chief, seven Deputy Editors, one other News & Commentary Editor, an Associate Editor and two Editorial Assistants.
She or he will ensure the highest standards of scientific excellence of the content and integrity of the peer-review process. This will involve working alongside the other News and Commentary Editor to commission experts to write a citeable commentary on an accepted paper and to consider News and Commentary article submissions for publication in ICB. In addition, the News and Commentary Editor works with the Editor-in-Chief and the Editorial Team to assist and coordinate the peer-review process; recommend and coordinate the Editorial Board; and promote the journal and its engagement with its readers. The ICB Editorial Team adheres to the COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) guidelines.
The term of service for this honorary position is from 1st January 2023 to 31st December 2025.
