Geoff was a pioneer and world leader in immunogenetics, particularly the interaction between mouse cytomegalovirus and the immune system as an illuminating example of persistent herpesvirus infections. Geoff contributed greatly to our society. He was ASI President in 1992-1993, and recognized with Honorary Life Membership in 2012.
